Fall 2010 is no different than other seasons when it comes to trends; there is always something new, and usually… a bit strange.
It is certainly entertaining to look at trends for the newest season, but ….hardly ever do I pay much attention.
Mostly, what I find myself saying is “Hmmmm….and just who would really wear that look?”
Keeping current with makeup trends can be inspiring, prevents us from getting stuck in a rut with our makeup routines, and can keep…us …ahem…more mature women youthful. So, as silly as it may seem for new makeup trends to keep coming around, and yes they are designed to keep us buying new stuff…if we use them wisely, we can benefit from them.
So, I sorted through the latest and the greatest and here I share with you trends that real women can wear. Everyday.
Plums. Plums are big this season.
And that is a good thing, as plums come in all shades so most of us can find a flattering hue. In fact, if you look around, you will see plums in all the shop windows this season, keep your eyes open. Makeup is not the only item you will see sporting its’ purples.
The Eyes
This seasons eyes call for the airiest fairest lavender eye colors such as Lavender Silver, Lilac and Bliss, as well as those deeper, smokier colors like Eggplant and Mystery, the violets are called in with Misty, the purpley browns of Soft Touch and Red Plum, the true purple of Grape eye liner, and of course the deep and sultry Burgundies and deep purples of such drama queens called Burgundy Wine and Purple Black Liner Powder.
For Lips
Try these practically perfect in every way plum shades: Chocolate Rasberry, Shimmering Cranberry, Velvet Wine, Sweet Cherry Wine, Berry Sweet, Mellow (new, not on website yet), Mulberry (new, not on website yet) and Mystic Mauve gloss.
And your plum cheeks?
Just wait till you see the new sparkly plum shade of Style Minerals Sumptuous cheek color! Style Minerals are not yet on the web site and will be launching soon, but, they are for sale, and you can get a sample. Just ask!
It officially feels like fall in the San Francisco Bay Area now. I have my home made dried apples on the counter for easy snacking, pumpkins on my doorstep and my new fall colors all squared away…I am ready for the season! What about you? What have you done to bring the new season in?
